I’m a Software Engineer and have a decent understanding of stock market concepts. Learning and research are not a problem for me, but time is. Due to the nature of my job, I’m unable to actively monitor the markets or spend much time analyzing stocks. For the past several months, I’ve been investing through SIPs, primarily in ETFs rather than individual stocks. Recently, I’ve been wondering whether I should continue with this approach or start building a portfolio of individual stocks instead. My investment horizon is very long-term—15+ years—and my goal is to build wealth steadily over time. Given my limited availability to track the market, I’d appreciate advice from more experienced investors: - Is continuing with ETFs the better strategy for someone in my situation? - If not, which individual stocks would you recommend for a long-term portfolio? - Are there any changes you would suggest to improve my current investment approach? I have tried at least 4-5 good brokerage houses for opening Minor Accounts but it looks like either they are not offering it or not helping at all as they know that they will not get any commission, as it might not be very big buyings. Is there anyone who has actually opened a minor accounts? Secondly, if i want to invest 10K per month for now, which two stocks shall i buy? My personal thinking is that it will be either FFC & NBP or FFC & UBL. Any better ideas by experienced investors?
