Familiarise yourself with Key Concepts
Hey guys, Hope you are well? Please have a look at the video below for a quick view into Salesforce (also a reminder in there of the Easter Egg that is still available 😎). https://share.vidyard.com/watch/BDm2xdT7zfDvwrNietQN5Y? As mentioned in the Video - please make sure that you sign up for a FREE Salesforce Trailhead account as this will form part of our learning material going forward. In the following sessions, we will go into details on how to build Custom Objects, Fields and Applications, so having a Trailhead account where you can follow along will come in very handy. 🏁🏁 But before we get too ahead of ourselves, let's make sure we get a grip on some of the Terms that are used in context of Salesforce (trust me this will make your life a lot easier): 1. AppExchange: - Salesforce's marketplace for apps and solutions built by third-party developers that integrate with Salesforce. https://appexchange.salesforce.com/ 2. API (Application Programming Interface): - A set of tools and protocols that allow different software applications to communicate with each other. - https://developer.salesforce.com/page/Salesforce_APIs 3. Apex: - Salesforce’s proprietary programming language that allows developers to execute flow and transaction control statements on the Salesforce platform. - https://developer.salesforce.com/docs/atlas.en-us.apexcode.meta/apexcode/ 4. Campaign: - A marketing project (like direct mail or web advertisements) that you plan, manage, and track within Salesforce. - https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=sf.campaigntab.htm&type=5 5. Chatter: - Salesforce's collaboration tool where users can post updates, share files, and communicate within the organization. -

June 2024 Leaderboard : Salesforce Quick Overview
Hey guys, Hope everyone is doing well and had a great weekend. (If you are reading this on your email, click through to the post, it will be a better experience) Wanted to do our first "official" Salesforce post to give a bit of an introduction to Salesforce in order to give some of the members of the Skool Community a first glimpse into the Ecosystem (explanation of Ecosystem in Salesforce context to follow). But before we get started, I just wanted to give a shoutout to our June 2024 Leaderboard. Well done to @Dieter van Zyl @Benine Van der Walt & @Lourens Liebenberg for taking the top 3 Spots in our Community. You can achieve this ranking by simply interacting more with the community by doing the following activities : Sharing the group link with Friends, Family, Colleagues or anyone who might benefit, liking and commenting on posts (make sure to Like and Comment on this Post 😄, as easy as that). Just also wanted to take a moment and give my thanks for everyone who has already joined the community, as of the time of this writing we are ten members of the community and I hope to see loads more join as the months go by. Ps, stick around to the end of the reading for a special "Easter Egg 🥚" I'll be posting between the content, trust me, it will be worth your while 😎. Now, back to the topic of Salesforce. So what is Salesforce? Is this Wian sharing tips and tricks around how to sell better? Maybe it's a system / method on how to build world class sales teams? The answer is, neither of what has been previously mentioned. BUT, it is a System that allows businesses to transform the way they Sell, Service and Market to their customers with a wide variety of Modules (Known as "Clouds"), all on one platform. Some high level functions that Salesforce can assist Businesses with: - Build out Advance Sales Processes - Assist Agents with Customer Query logging and Resolution - Automate Digital Marketing efforts on Channels such as Email, SMS, WhatsApp & Social Media - Build out on-line Stores for Business-to-Business (B2B) or Business-to-Consumer(B2C) transactions - Here is the first portion of of the easter egg, do you want R1000 cash? (continue reading) - Create customs Apps via the Heroku platform

Intro to Salesforce Samurais
Just starting - Salesforce Samurais
Hey everyone, I hope you’re all doing well! I’m excited to introduce a new community focused on Salesforce education. While there are numerous resources scattered across the internet, many people new to Salesforce often feel overwhelmed and unsure where to start. Additionally, I've heard from numerous clients about their struggles to afford a full-time Salesforce administrator or continuously pay consulting firms for minor configuration tasks. The goal of this community is to break down Salesforce content into manageable, easy-to-understand chunks. I aim to explain things in a way that anyone can grasp, regardless of their background. Why? Because not too long ago, I was in the same boat. Coming from a non-technical background—I sold insurance over the phone and studied sound engineering before diving into Salesforce—I know that with the right guidance, anyone can learn the basics of this platform. I envision "Salesforce Samurais" as a place where members can access beginner-friendly Salesforce content, ask questions about areas they’re struggling with (whether they’re new to the ecosystem or working within a business), and get answers from experts. We aim to simplify the complexities of Salesforce and provide meaningful, understandable content. So, if you’re curious about Salesforce and have questions, please feel free to post them in our community. Your inquiries will guide the content we create, so don’t hesitate to ask. Thanks for reading, everyone!
