Sound on for this one!
One of the ways I personally discern that an offering has been accepted is that it often seems as though the life or essence has been drawn from it. Rather than developing mold, attracting flies, or producing an unpleasant smell, it simply becomes dry and hard.
Here’s an example of an offering I gave to Obatala—a soft, sweet coconut bun, which is one of my favorite offerings to present to him.
Of course, everyone’s spiritual practice is different, and this is simply how I experience and interpret offerings within my own tradition and relationship with Obatala.
Let me know if you would be interested in diving deeper into offerings and altar building 🤍
