“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” — Isaiah 9:6
Reflection:
On this Christmas Day, we celebrate God meeting us in our humanity. Isaiah’s prophecy reminds us that the child born in Bethlehem carries divine titles—Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Jesus is God’s answer to our deepest longings, choosing vulnerability and intimacy over distance and power.
