In honor of the Nuggiversary (4 years today) here are some homemade dog biscuit recipes:

1/3 cup margarine

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 egg, beaten
3 cups whole wheat flour
Directions/method

- In a large bowl, combine rolled oats, margarine, and boiling water. Let stand 10 minutes. Grease cookie sheets.
- Thoroughly stir in cornmeal, bouillon, milk, Cheddar cheese, and egg. Mix in flour, 1 cup at a time, until a stiff dough has formed.
- Knead dough on a lightly floured surface, mixing in additional flour as necessary until dough is smooth and no longer sticky. Roll or pat out dough to 1/2" thickness. Cut with cookie cutter and place 1 inch apart onto the prepared cookie sheets.
- Bake 35 to 45 minutes in the preheated oven, until golden brown. Cool before serving. Store in a loosely covered container.

_____________
I found this one for a pet treat maker, which I don't have...but if I ever find one on the cheap (at a thrift store or jumble sale), I'd get it.
Pet Treat Maker
Peanut Butter soft dough biscuits
1 cup of whole wheat flour
1/2 cup of dry oatmeal
1/2 cup of peanut butter
1 egg
1/4 tsp of ground cinnamon
Steps:
In a large mixing bowl begin by mixing together your dry ingredients.
Then fold in the peanut butter and the egg. Use your hands to knead the dough.
Taking a small amount of the dough, press down the dough into your Pet Treat Maker.
Allow to bake for 7-10 minutes. Remove your treats using a Holstein silicone spatula.
Allow your treats to completely cool before serving them to your pet or storing them in your pet treat jar.
