There are three key levers to pull as a sales rep
And what I've found over the years is that conviction is the one that affects everything downstream.
Meaning, when your conviction is high, so is your effort, so is your training, so is your skill set. Then you get results, and then you want to put in more effort, then you want to put in more training and get more results at the positive upward spiral.
On the flip side, when your conviction is low, so is your effort. Your skill set declines, your results decline, and you go into a negative spiral.
So the real question becomes: where does conviction start?
Conviction starts off the call. Conviction starts in the tough conversations you have at home. Conviction starts and following through on what you said you were going to do. Conviction starts when your identity is no longer tied to how much you make. Conviction is built in the day-to-day action steps you take, aligned with the identity of who you are becoming.
The crazy thing about conviction and identity is that over the long term, it can't be faked, only built.
So take the next step, take the next action, get out of the comfort zone, follow through, and build that muscle of conviction.
