✨ When Old Wounds Rise — Speak to the Child Within
When an old wound rises and we feel upset, it’s easy to forget that it’s often our younger self calling for care.
In those moments, many of us make the same mistake — we focus on the person who triggered us, blaming or analyzing them, instead of realizing they’re simply mirroring our unhealed pain.
The real healing begins when we pause and go inward, meeting the part of us that still hurts.
Our nervous system often reacts as if we’re back in those early moments of neglect, fear, or abandonment. When that happens, I gently speak to my inner child:
“You’re not alone now. You’re safe. I’m here with you. I’m sorry the people who were meant to protect you couldn’t. You deserve love, safety, and care — and I’m here for you now.”
Sometimes I speak out loud, sometimes silently — but most times, tears come and healing follows.
💗 Instead of blaming outward, turn inward. The one who truly needs your attention is waiting within.
If this resonates, I’d love to hear how you comfort your inner child — or what helps you soften when you feel triggered.
