We are updating the Human Body and Marine Biology courses. We will be updating the Physics and Physical Science courses during November, with a release date of December 1st. Beginning in January, I will be adding readings which update the online textbook being used for each course. The textbook will still be available, but will it supplement the new versions. The first to come online will be biology and chemistry.

In 1998, Russian scientists discovered a metal bolt embedded inside a piece of rock that was dated to approximately 300–320 million years old. Think about what that means. According to the evolutionary timeline, this rock supposedly existed hundreds of millions of years before humans, civilization, or any known technology capable of producing a metal bolt. Yet a manufactured object was found locked inside it. If the rock is truly that old, then the evolutionary timeline has a serious problem. This is exactly why the ages assigned to rocks should not be treated as unquestionable facts. Radiometric dating depends on assumptions about a rock’s history, including whether the elements being measured remained isolated from outside contamination or loss. Different dating methods can also produce conflicting ages. When a manufactured object is found inside rock that supposedly predates humanity by hundreds of millions of years, the problem cannot simply be dismissed to preserve the evolutionary timeline. The dating itself must be questioned. A number produced by a dating method does not automatically prove that the rock is actually that old. The Bible gives us a very different history of the world—one in which mankind appears near the beginning of Earth’s history, followed by a catastrophic global Flood that reshaped the world. The 300-million-year-old bolt is another example of why the millions-of-years chronology should not be treated as an unquestionable fact. When physical evidence conflicts with the accepted timeline, we should examine the timeline rather than force the evidence to fit it.
