Useful Questions to answer in writing
WHO do you help?
Women 45+ (50+) in business who want to upgrade their life/business
Corporate, ex-corporate, solo business owners, service based business owners, where THEY are the business
WHAT is their most painful problem?
They feel like they don’t have control over their life
They KNOW they are on the cusp of a new chapter yet they are not able to get traction to get going or sustain actions/momentum.
Feel STUCK and in their own way - unable to move forward or make meaningful progress in their life
They have ideas but don’t act on them or are not successful in implementing/making progress.
They have significant inner conflict about taking the actions; they don’t feel resourceful; their sense of self has eroded; their decisiveness wavers
They don’t see a way out, a way forward
They are despondent - “is this it? How come i can’t figure this out? I don’t WANT to be done, I’ve got more to live, to give -
The expanded direction competes with other “life” events /transitions, which require emotional energy and time
NOT making progress and emotional turmoil that accompanies it
HOW does that problem show up for them? (know what it is but not doing it -
Wheel spinning
Continue to have a number of starts and stops and redirects, only to circle back and repeat it - no firm decision and then action to implement.
“Analysis paralysis” -
Feel emotional ups and downs - exaggerated when they see the “on hold” nature of their life
Days into weeks and months, and still nothing to show for their “dreams” - and because of this, they are starting to waiver and wobble about what they think is possible for them
They see OTHERS who are dramatically less qualified than they are - visible on the social media platforms - getting the deals, getting the attention - and yet they KNOW they are sitting on a gold mine of ideas, of vision, of energy
OR
They are KNOW its time to shift gears away from their current position - but feel frozen because don’t know the next move. Justify and excuse their inaction because their comfort and familiarity is all in the past - yet
OR
They have the financial piece figured out - their ambition and efforts have served them well. AND there are gaps in other pieces in their life - relationships and health.
HOW does that FEEL for them?
Internal RESTLESSness with “this isn’t it!”
Lack of vitality, energy and fulfillment/satisfaction - discontent
Internal conflict and friction
Constant internal swirl that distracts from the present moment - doesn’t leave you alone
From putting on a fake smile to blah and distractions to low moods
WHAT is the EXISTING SYSTEM? (What do most people with this problem do?)
Ignore it for a while - then start looking on the internet for sparks of inspiration;
talking to close girlfriends - only a little because then you’re being a burden
Seek out therapy or counseling or coaching
Distract yourself with external things and events to “change things up” - travel; take a new class;
WHAT DO MOST PEOPLE IN MY KIND OF BUSINESS PROPOSE AS SOLUTION?
General solutions: business goal and growth programs; career exploration workshops
General life coaching groups
Accountability focused coaching
WHAT IS THE FAILURE POINT for each of these usual suspects?
The transformation doesn’t actually transform -
Doesn’t support her for the duration to complete
Don’t address the identity, self-concept that is at the root of all
Doesn’t address the inner barriers that were conditioned into her that has been the source of self-imposed constraints and how to move through and into a new identity
Doesn’t embody the new identity into the DOING aspects -
- stops at the pretty words, doesn’t provide the practical path doesn’t operationalize it in incremental steps
Too superficial - may address symptoms, not core
Need a specific growth story she can fully buy into and own (not just pretty words)
Don’t address the ROLE she has assumed - the identity embodiment - and how to actually and practically operationalize the steps to become and do to have
WHAT IS THE WHAT IF THAT provides a breakthrough?
WHAT IF we could imagine ourselves as if we were observing our life in a movie, or onstage? What if we could imagine ourselves as getting to choose our thoughts, emotions, actions?
WHAT IF we could imagine our life if we had been raised as a man - what
What if your future was rich and full of adventure and vitality?
What if everything was setting you up perfectly?
What if there was a growth pathway that would actually lead to your destiny?
