Platform.Claude v Claude.AI (specifically Claude CoWork/Code on desktop)
I've been refining my dev workflow between Claude Code and the Claude Platform. I’ve found the Platform is excellent for deep-dive metrics and 'benchtesting' how specific models react to system prompt changes or temperature settings. However, the pay-as-you-go token costs add up fast when running agentic loops.
My current strategy is using Claude Code (via my Pro/Max subscriptions) for the bulk of initial builds and PoCs to keep costs predictable, then moving to the Platform/API for final application testing and refined constraints.
Is anyone else splitting their workflow this way? Or is there a way to bridge the gap between 'unlimited' subscription-style coding and the deeper metrics of the API Console without the massive token bill?
