Stress Relief
This weekend, my wife and I are celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary at Evins Mill in Smithville, TN.
No alarms. No schedules. No constant notifications. Just quiet mornings, long conversations, good food, and space to breathe.
It was a powerful reminder of something most driven people overlook: decompression is not a reward — it’s a requirement.
When you’re building a business, raising a family, managing health, or chasing big goals, stress doesn’t always show up as panic. More often, it shows up as:
  • Mental fog
  • Shorter patience
  • Low energy
  • Losing enjoyment in things you used to love
Taking time away isn’t about escaping responsibility. It’s about resetting your nervous system so you can show up sharper, calmer, and more intentional when you return.
I genuinely believe that some of the best decisions I’ve ever made didn’t come from grinding harder — they came after slowing down enough to think clearly.
If you’re feeling stretched thin right now, consider this your permission slip:
Schedule the break. Take the walk. Plan the getaway. Protect the margin.
Your goals will still be there — and you’ll be better equipped to reach them.
Grateful for 15 years, grateful for the reset, and grateful for the reminder that success means nothing if you’re too burned out to enjoy it.
