Growing Into the Blessing You Want | Monday Push

Good morning,

Better to have little, with fear for the Lord, than to have great treasure and inner turmoil.

Proverbs 15:16

If you’ve been with me for a while, you’ve heard me share that my first tithe as an adult was $16. It wasn’t even 10%—it was simply what I could give. I’m grateful for that moment now, because it taught me something early: having more money doesn’t automatically bring peace.

You might be thinking, “Latrisa, let me find out for myself.” I get it.

If someone gave you an extra $100 a month, you’d probably know exactly where to put it. What about $1,000? Most of us could map that out fast.

But let’s keep going. What would you do with $10,000 extra each month? A safer car? A better home? A school program for your kids?

Now imagine $100,000 extra each month. Would you truly feel prepared for that kind of responsibility? Could you carry it without anxiety, without pressure from others, without losing yourself in the weight of it all?

It’s not wrong to ask God for increase—His Word tells us He provides for our needs. But peace and capacity don’t always grow at the same pace as our desires. My mentor says often, “God’s delay is His kindness.” And I believe that. Sometimes He holds back the “more” because He’s still building the person who will manage it well.

Let’s be people who are content with where we are, while allowing God to shape us for where we’re going.

Prayer of the Week

Dear God, Teach me to trust Your timing. You see my future clearly, and You know when I’m ready for more. Strengthen my character, prepare my heart, and guide my steps. Help me grow into the person who can carry the blessings You have planned. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
