Okay, so this was suppost to be a QnA reply but golly this topic is a chunky monkey.
Below is my attempt at giving some handy dos and don't in relation to bud along with some supplements I think are worth your attention.
This subject is one filled with passion and a fair bit of folk lore. I hope I dont step on anyone's toes with this. Without further yap and ado on my part...
Canabis exists in this grey area of being both clinically useful while carrying some health/wellbeing risks that I don't think are worth ignoring.
Weed Do's
1) Track your consumption, this may sound silly but track how much you are actually smoking/eating.
so for example:
3 joints
2 50mg edibles
x weight in a bong.
you get the idea, we want to make sure that consumption isnt slowly creeping up as thats where issues can arrise.
Ideally 70mg (14 units) of pure THC is the upper weekly amount to avoid heavy tolerance and or dependancy issues
2) Use Dry Herb Vaporizers or Low dose edibles: If inhaling, switch from combustion to a temperature controlled dry herb vaporizer to avoid toxic combustion products. If you are taking edibles make sure you are taking cbd alongside of it to help co8unter some of the issues thc can cause.
3) following on from that last point... Choose Balanced THC:CBD Ratios: Select products that contain equal or higher amounts of CBD relative to THC to help protect against paranoia and memory impairment. CBD is an incredible compound with a very long list of benifits from neurological health, anti inflammation, mental health etc...
4) Take regular tolerance breaks, a month would be ideal, but at a minimum 7 days when every you feel your tolerance starting to build. You can keep using CBD during this period.
Weed No Nots:
1) avoid like the plague any form that boasts high THC content, this is what leads the majority of weeds issues!
2) Try and avoid using it for sleep, I understand that a lot of folks use Weed as a sleep aid and if you genuinly need it for sleep then I would attempt to ween yourself off it for that reason and look to more healthy alternatives. I will put a protocol at the bottom along with links. HOWEVER, smoking 2 to 3 hours pre bed to calm down in the evening is okay and may even help sleep quality!
3) Wake and bake is a big no no. Please grant your body a few hours grace before lighting up. Wake and Bake is strongly corrilated with a host of negative outcomes ranging from a up tik in dependence rate, reduction in day time function, rapid CB1 receptor down regulation.
4) Do not, in my opinion combined with psychadelics, mushrooms, lsd, mdma, mda etc. Combining will increase the risk of psychosis, severe paranoia, and acute psychological distress. This may rub people the wrong way through their own anecdotal experiances being contrarary from this claim, but I can only go off what the science says. When it comes to hard reduction and attempting to make out lives as amazing as they can be, I have to disregaurd anecdote in favour of clinical data.
Supplement Protocols and deitary recomendations:
Flower Power:
N-Acetylcysteine (NAC): Take 600mg daily, titrate up to 2,400mg (split into two doses) over a period of a few weeks and assess how you feel. You may want to sit at 1,200mg or 1,800mg if 2,400mg dampens glutamate to much for you.
Why : NAC supports glutathione levels and helps balance brain glutamate signaling, reducing drug cravings and helping reverse tolerance.
Oral CBD Isolate: 20mg-50mg with thc use
Why: CBD acts as a negative allosteric modulator at the CB1 receptor, altering how THC binds to the receptor without completely blocking it. It also increases cerebral blood flow to the hippocampus to counteract THC's classic memory recall issues.
Dietary Terpenes: Alpha GPC or Rosmary/Sage
Why: Consuming pinene rich botanical extracts or acetylcholine support (such as Alpha GPC or Huperzine A) preserves synaptic acetylcholine levels, helping protect short term memory function during acute intoxication. I would reccomend going for the herbs as they carry immense health benifits outside of this scope, though Stacking them is fine.
Genistein (Soy Isoflavone) 40g with a meal
Why: THC activates peripheral CB1 receptors on vascular endothelial cells, which can trigger cellular inflammation, oxidative stress, and long term arterial stiffness (atherosclerosis). Preclinical research indicates that genistein blocks THC induced vascular inflammation and endothelial dysfunction without crossing the blood brain barrier meaning it helps protect cardiovascular health without diminishing the beneficial and fun psychoactive effects of weed.
Omega 3 Fatty Acids (EPA & DHA): 1g total EPA with a meal
WHY: Omega 3 fatty acids are structural components of neuronal cell membranes and act as direct precursors for the body's natural endocannabinoids (like anandamide and 2 AG).maintaining optimal omega 3 levels supports proper CB1 receptor membrane fluidity and receptor density, preventing premature receptor desensitisation and helping maintain cognitive flexibility. Its just good for your brain to be honest.
Magnesium (L-Threonate or Glycinate) 500mg elemental magnesium pre bed
Why: Magnesium blocks NMDA receptors in the brain, protecting neurons from over excitation and promoting better Neurological balance.

Sleep Stack:
Magnesium Glycinate 500mg elemental magnesium pre bed as above
Wh: Elemental magnesium acts as a natural calcium channel blocker and NMDA receptor antagonist, which relaxes peripheral muscle tissue and calms nervous system activity. It also supports natural GABA production and helps lower evening cortisol levels.
Apigenin 50mg 30-60 mins pre bed
Why: Apigenin is a naturally occurring bioflavonoid extracted from chamomile or lemon balm. It binds to GABA A receptors in the brain, producing a mild, non sedating anxiolytic effect. It also displays strong antioxidant inflammation properties! I use this in a nad+ stack as well as for my sleep.
Glycine 3g just before bed
Why: Glycine is an inhibitory amino acid neurotransmitter that promotes peripheral vasodilation (dilating blood vessels near the skin). This process lowers core body temperature, the body’s primary biological trigger for signaling sleep. Clinical trials show that glycine reduces sleep latency (time to fall asleep) and significantly decreases next day cognitive fatigue!
