I will be headed out to the American River to do some prospecting this weekend. Might just be a scout outting since there could be lots of snow still. What are your guys plans? Would anyone like to join me?

Since the weather was not permitting us out at Rye Patch, I decided to do a small trip up to one of my favorite beaches at Tahoe. I was showing my good friend Jimmy the ropes with the monster 1000. We dug up many targets. We were hoping to find some gold rings, but instead we cleaned up the beach of trash, found a tiny gold link, and it felt pretty good! Always a good feeling to clean up part of my home. I don't think many beachgoers realise what is beneath their feet. The number of nails was a bit uncomfortable to see, considering I am barefoot on the beach usually. I am considering doing some beach cleanups as a group this year. Would anyone be interested in joining? Mainly, Tahoe was my thought, but it could be anywhere we would be allowed.

I will be headed out to Rye Patch to do some detecting on Wednesday, the 15th. If anyone would like to join, let me know, and we can carpool. Likely to leave around 6 am to get out there. I am utilizing a map that I built, and to get there, it will require about a mile or two of hiking. I should be able to drive up fairly close, but I have not driven this off-shoot road before. Can't wait to get back out there! Will post findings, if any, in the comment section below.
