Today I woke up thinking of my “to do” list.
I said I WOKE UP thinking of my to do list! How crazy is that?!?
Fortunately I am a student of what I teach, so I SAW that I was doing that. And I paused. Took some breaths. Gathered myself & realized:
I have another day! A delicious brand new, all-mine day! And I am breathing! Which means God or the universe isn’t done with me yet.
Then I got thankful. I recognized that being alive is itself a gift. 🎁 Having another day is a gift.
I looked at my surroundings with grateful eyes.
Don’t get me wrong- I still have a “to do” list!
But when we focus only on the next task, the next accomplishment, what isn’t done, what we need to do…it becomes an endless loop 🔁 in our brains that can produce anxiety.
Being aware of your thoughts is The Most Powerful way to interrupt that cycle & open up a space for…
Peace. For calmness. For gratitude.
So I invite you today wherever you are, whatever you’re doing, no matter how many more items there are on your list, to pause & breathe.
Think of what you’re grateful for in this moment.
I am holding space for each of you to experience this lovely feeling of calm inside of you, even as we are bombarded minute by minute by news, distractions & noise.
