Hello! Last night I attended an event that is traditional in my culture (I am Mexican-American). In Mexican culture, a girl has a huge party called a Quinceañera, similar to a wedding, when she turns 15. My best friend’s daughter turned 15, and last night we celebrated her. It was a fun night, my partner played music, there was dancing, and cake, and tacos.
It’s supposed to be super formal, but I only own one dress, and it’s pretty, but not formal 🤣 that’s okay!
I asked my friend’s son, who is four years old, to take videos of people dancing. He was very diligent, he took his job very seriously! He also took candid videos of attendees. Here is a short video he took of one of my friends and I making silly faces for the camera.
I’d love to learn about some archaic rituals or traditions that you’d like to share! And I’m happy to answer any questions about Quinceañeras!
