A few weeks ago, I started a pretty ambitious project: making my own little mosaic tiles for the washstand area in our bathroom. Two days ago, I finally pulled the first finished tiles out of the kiln. I only meant to place a few next to the sink to get a sense of how they might look… and that’s when the whole plan shifted.
I realized that a simple border around the sink might actually be enough to make the space look beautiful again—and to cover up those chipped spots that had been bothering me. So I counted all the tiles I had, and to my surprise, the number was exactly right for a full border.
At that moment I decided to turn the “big project” into a “small-but-perfect project.” I laid out all the tiles around the washstand, and I’m honestly so thrilled with the result. Now all that’s left is adding a bit of silicone along the edges, and then the whole washstand makeover will be complete.
Feeling very proud and happy—sometimes the smaller projects really are the sweetest!
