Health is the most important thing
We often do not prioritise or pay attention to our health until something goes really wrong or it's too late and the damage is done.. We all can learn lessons when it comes to health. But one huge lesson that keeps presenting itself is that no matter what job you have, how much money you have, what car you drive, how big your house is, health really is the most important thing. If you are healthy you are rich.. If you are unwell either physically or mentally, life will no doubt be harder for you than those that are healthy. Money can not buy health. Getting sick can happen to anyone at anytime. That's why we must try our best to be grateful for our health, prioritise our health and always know that how much money you have does not define you as a person.. We can work ourselves sick and that is not the goal. I sometimes think that living simpler would be better for everyone, wanting less, needing less, being happier with less.. If we were happier with less, we wouldn't have to work so hard to achieve what we want.. This is my take on things and just thoughts that I have.

The benefits of not drinking alcohol
One very difficult topic I have faced over the last few years as an adult is my decision to abstain from alcohol and be 100% alcohol free.. Many people do not understand not agree with it and always say they could never do it themselves. I was one of those people once upon a time. I loved a drink, and would find any excuse under the sun to drink.. Everything was centred around the next big party. Unfortunately over the years alcohol lead me to making many poor decisions, affected my mental health severely, affected me financially, affected me in so many negative ways and I endured so many nasty hangovers and one day I just said no more!! To me being sober and living without the influence of a substance changing me and controlling me is worth so much.. The mental clarity, the waking up not sick and not overthinking events that took place, not having the endless what ifs and anxiety the next day or for weeks on end or even months on end after a big party or social event where alcohol was involved.. Do I judge other people who drink a lot, no I don't and it's a very easy trap to fall into.. I know from personal experience. Do I feel most adults would benefit greatly from not drinking or from atleast cutting down on their drinking, absolutely. Alcohol is a depressant, for anyone who suffers any type of mental illness, alcohol will exacerbate your illness.. Not only mentally but the physical effects of alcohol are immense. I know alcohol culture can be so engrained in us, usually starting in the teen years and progressing onwards. I know it's just so easily accepted by society and promoted by society but at the end of the day anything that alters your usual way of being, thinking, acting is a drug and alcohol is a drug.. I've seen many good people and families ripped apart by the devastating effects of alcoholism.. It's not pretty.

Getting yourself out of a funk!
Honestly with the complexity of life we all experience many ups and downs and sometimes it's easy to fall into a rutt. Our thoughts become actions. This is why when I'm having negative thoughts myself, I challenge myself to change my thoughts.. If I can refraim even just one negative thought it can have a super beneficial spiral.. So instead of negative spiraling, I can trick my brain into being more positive.. Then we have a flow in effect of more and more positive thoughts.. Which usually leads us to taking lots of positive and or helpful actions. Bless you all 🙏✨

The reason You should surround yourself with happy people
Negative thoughts are contagious, what we surround ourselves with is what we become. We can not thrive in an environment that is not emotionally healthy. If you truely want to be happy, you need to be very mindful of who you associate with. If you associate with people who always have negative things to say about others or life in general this will not help you to feel happy. If you have regular contact with anyone who gossips, or puts others or yourself down this is not an emotionally smart or safe choice for you. We become who we surround ourself with 🙏
