Lost wallet
Some things are not ideal, like “misplacing” your wallet when you are abroad. How do you manage your cash, cards, backup cards when on the move? Does your bank ship new cards worldwide wide?
All on plastic
I showed up in Spain with $4 EUR coins - left over from last year, and as I’m about to close out this season, I managed to do all 3 months without a trip to the ATM. The smallest amount I spent was in Lead for my pencil for a $1.15. The lady did cringe when I said « Tarjeta » but still indulged me :) It’s interesting in that while in Spain, it’s all plastic, when in Mexico it’s all cash 💰. You cash or card?

How do you withdraw cash when abroad?
Or do you? Cards are more broadly accepted nowadays which could make cash unnecessary and even risky when ATM's can easily be tampered with in some countries. Many credit cards offer no FX fees and many banks offer FREE withdrawals abroad when in network. 🟢 What is your go to: Local ATM's Airport ATM's Cash exchange (at airport or home) Travelers Checks (who remember those?) or something else? Why?
