You know who you are. You are the one who always ends up hosting.
The trip, the dinner, the night out that turns into everyone's favorite story.
People come to you when they want something to happen.
.....and you have never made a dime off it.
Here is what I want you to see.
The thing you do for nothing is the hard part.
Picking the room.
Getting the right people in it.
Reading the energy.
Making the shy person in the corner feel like they belong.
You cannot buy that skill.
Most promoters with big budgets still cannot do it.
You do it on instinct.
Here is how it actually went for me, because the arc is the lesson.
For the first seven, eight, nine years, I threw these purely as a hobby.
The people coming were close friends, so making a profit off them never crossed my mind.
I covered the costs and loved every minute.
Then it grew. One bus became eight.
50 people became 400 at the concert.
And by then it was a real business with real profit in it, and that was exactly right.
I had earned it.
The free years were not a waste.
They were the foundation that made the paid years possible.
You do not skip the passion part.
You just do not get stuck in it.
You are not just a hobbyist.
You are an event producer who has not sent your first invoice yet.
So here is my question for the comments.
What is the real reason you have not charged?
Is it that you think people will not pay?
Or is it that some part of you has not decided you are allowed to get paid for something you love?
Drop it below.
Be honest.
That answer is the whole game.
