HOW TO USE THE DISCUSSION PAGE 🚨
Hey friends, I want to make a post sharing how to use the main page AKA the discussion page in this group. I make POSTS on YouTube, LinkedIn, Instagram, and X (Twitter). I don't want this group to be just another "social media" to post my content... I want it to be a place where we actually DISCUSS your issues and questions. So... besides sharing new lesson drops (since Skool gets them exclusively FIRST), I would suggest following me on socials to see what I'm up to. 🤙 That being said... the entire discussion page gets cleared up for me to help YOU. So please post your thoughts, questions, business issues, branding questions, etc. and let's tackle them one by one together to build you a more profitable and elite personal brand. ✅

$200k in gross contracts. Zero tech background. Hasn’t even been a year.
I just hit a major milestone, triggered by a contract I closed this week. And I’m within $4k of hitting my most ambitious quarterly revenue goal yet, cash collected. A year ago I was commuting into an office every day, working overtime just to clear $100k on my W2. I had a desk treadmill and got written up because people were complaining it was too loud in the open office. I literally ate my pounds of fruit in a corner away from everybody else. Since I’ve been studying Steve Jobs’ story, it sounds very similar to what happened to him at Pixar. 🤣 I was miserable. I had zero tech background when I decided to go all in on AI automation. I just got really passionate about it, learned everything I could, didn’t stop and now build enterprise level software for construction companies. The nos got bigger and they hurt more. When you genuinely click with a client, you know you can help them, and they say no… that one stings. You can’t scale back down once you’re bringing in higher-value clients. It’s just part of the transition. I have a conversation today with someone I first talked to back in August. He couldn’t quite see the value then. We’ve stayed in touch, and now we’re talking about Claude and how I’ve been using AI. That’s a long game, and it’s worth playing. My team is doing things I didn’t even think were possible in some of these platforms. Having people who are really good at what they do and actually enjoy the work has changed everything, including what I can charge. Next week I’m paying $300 to walk into a multifamily and commercial real estate summit in downtown LA. I pulled the attendee list. Presidents and owners of $40M+ development and construction companies. My exact customer. I got the tip from a potential client who literally taught me the construction industry years ago. He’s now a VP, he’s going to be at that event, and we may be working together. That’s what going all in looks like over time. Every quarter I’m basically doubling. I’m still up at 5:30 every morning. Still showing up the same way I did when I had nothing to show for it.
Content Value Ideas
I want to give as much value to my viewers as possible. The way I wanted to do that is make a video of me live helping people to maintain their cars as cheap as possible (if money is very tight). I can show how frugal you can be finding cheap tools, parts, oil, etc and breaking down the cost vs bringing it to a shop. As you save money you eventually will build a whole toolbox over time… instead of paying top dollar just to save 20-30 minutes of time but have nothing to show for it. Do you think this would give enough value to people trying to DIY things themselves but just don’t know what to buy or where to get it? :)
Social Media Pivot
Life has been busy and I took a short break from social media, but I’m getting back into it with some new ideas. I’m a mechanic content creator on YouTube and I’m trying to move away from mostly AI voiceover shorts into more long-form “authority” style content explaining how things work (engines, AWD systems, maintenance, etc). I just bought a new car so some content will be around that specific niche too. The biggest challenge I run into is the editing and visuals. Writing the script and explaining concepts is the easy part for me, but finding B-roll, animations, or clips to match everything I’m talking about can get tedious compared to just editing a short. For those of you who edit long-form content: How do you approach visuals for educational videos when you don’t have footage for everything? I don't always have time (or money) to buy things or do things on the cars to film myself. I typically do the script first and build the visuals around it, but making the information the focus instead of crazy editing. Do you mostly: - Pull B-roll from YouTube and transform it (this is what I usually do) - Use stock footage libraries - Create diagrams / motion graphics - Or build a reusable B-roll library? My upcoming content idea is buying an action camera and mic to just do POV drives to talk about anything while driving. Would love to hear how you guys approach this.
