Everyone has a worldview—an understanding of reality, meaning, morality, suffering, human nature and how life should be lived. Just as computer hardware needs an operating system, the human mind needs a worldview to function. Most of us inherit—or are effectively “brainwashed” into—one through family, religion, education and culture.
Open Sourcery is a community for examining and, where necessary, deprogramming those inheritances while encountering diverse perspectives. We explore religious, philosophical, Indigenous, scientific and secular traditions—not to declare a winner or pretend they are identical, but to discover what each might contribute to a genuinely livable worldview. Our only creed is curiosity, mutual respect and tolerance for the mixing of beliefs in others.
