Most companies say they are using AI. Usually, that means individual employees are using ChatGPT or Copilot to write faster, summarize meetings or automate a few tasks. That can make a person more productive, but the company itself still runs the same way it always has. The information is still scattered. Decisions still disappear. Processes still live in people's heads. Every AI tool starts each conversation missing most of the context that makes the business work. That is the difference between a company that uses AI and a company that is actually becoming AI-native. Smart founders are building two companies There is the company your people work inside: the clients, products, meetings, decisions, history and daily operations. Then there is the machine-legible version of that company: the knowledge, systems and working context that your AI agents need before they can do useful work across the organization. Most businesses have built the first company. Very few have built the second. Brian Halligan, the co-founder of HubSpot, describes the coming shift as moving AI from an individual productivity tool to an organizational operating model. Instead of giving every employee an isolated assistant, the company's systems become legible enough for AI agents to understand context, participate in workflows and help the organization improve as a whole. Humans still provide the judgment, taste, relationships and lived history. But the agents no longer begin every job half-blind. Google Drive already holds the raw material If your company runs on Google Drive, much of your organizational intelligence is already there: - Client and project history - Proposals and agreements - Meeting notes and decisions - Processes and operating procedures - Research and product thinking - The documents your team uses to get work done But storage is not memory. A folder full of documents does not automatically become a company brain. Your people and your AI still need to find the right information, understand how it connects, know which version matters and carry corrections forward.
