10 supplements
I was looking over the 10 supplements to give to your dog pdf. What brands would you recommend for all 1-10? I'm low income with not much to spare after the bills, so I can only afford so much. But I also want to make sure that I'm not getting something that's so cheap that its lacking the quality needed to be effective. My boy is a 21 m.o. AmStaff, still intact, but he will be snipped in September. He is my service dog in training. He's been on kibble his whole life, and he's got very picky with his dog food lately. I have been wanting to switch him to a gently cooked diet of various foods. Not sure which foods yet, as I've not learned what those might be. I've seen a few YouTube videos of people making a farmer's dog home made version, but is that the best whole meal recipe out there? Is there something better? I also heard peas can cause heart issues of some sort from a vet tech. I want to make sure there's no hidden issues with the foods I'm eventually going to be feeding him. Please help me out? Thank you! ~Kit & Hopi

What does "feeding the gut microbiome" actually mean? 🧐
Think of your dog's gut microbiome as a bustling community made up of trillions of bacteria, fungi, and other microorganisms. Some of these microbes are incredibly beneficial and play a huge role in digestion, immune function, skin health, and even mood. Just like us, those beneficial microbes need food to thrive. So, when we talk about feeding the gut microbiome, we're talking about feeding the GOOD bacteria in your dog's gut. My favorite ways to do that include: 🥕 Fresh vegetables like carrots, broccoli, and leafy greens 🫐 Blueberries packed with antioxidants 🍄 Mushrooms that provide unique compounds to support overall wellness 🥚 Eggs, a nutritional powerhouse 🐟 Sardines for healthy fats and essential nutrients 🥬 Fermented foods and probiotic-rich toppers designed for dogs The key is variety. 🎯 Many dogs eat the exact same thing day after day, year after year. While consistency can be helpful, introducing a variety of fresh, whole foods can help expose the gut microbiome to different nutrients and compounds that support microbial diversity. 😱 And diversity is what we're after! A diverse microbiome is often associated with a stronger immune system, better digestion, healthier skin, and overall resilience. The good news? 🎉 You don't have to completely overhaul your dog's diet overnight. Start small...🙏🏻 Add a blueberry, Crack an egg over their meal, Toss in a sardine, Offer a few dog-safe mushrooms. Small changes can add up to big benefits over time. 🐶 I'd love to know—what fresh food does your dog get most excited about? Share some pics in the community! To healthier guts and happier dogs!! 😍
🚨 Heads Up Dog Parents — Check Your Pantry Today
There have been multiple dog food recalls hitting shelves lately, including raw and treat products pulled over Salmonella risks. 😬 If you feed raw, freeze dried, or store bought treats, this is your reminder to double check your bags and lot numbers. Here is what to watch for 👇 🎯 Check the brand and lot number against any recall notices 🎯 Watch for vomiting, diarrhea, or sudden lethargy in your dog 🎯 Wash your hands after handling any recalled food 🎯 When in doubt, switch to a trusted source temporarily Here is the bigger picture though... Recalls happen. Ingredients get contaminated. Supply chains fail. It is honestly one of the scariest parts of being a dog parent because so much of it is out of our hands. 😞 But here is what IS in our hands 👇 A strong gut means a stronger defense system. Dogs with healthy gut flora bounce back faster from things like food sensitivities, mild bacterial exposure, and tummy upsets in general. It does not make your dog immune. But it gives them a fighting chance when something slips through. Have you ever had a scare with a recalled product? 😳 Drop a comment and let us know if you've experienced any of this and how your pup did. Let us help each other stay ahead of this stuff. 🐾 To a healthy, happy pup!!

🚨 Dog Parents — This mysterious respiratory illness is something you MUST know about
A mysterious respiratory illness called CIRDC has been quietly spreading across the United States and it is still raising serious red flags heading into 2026. Here is what makes this one different from your typical kennel cough... It does not respond to antibiotics. It can progress to severe pneumonia within 24 to 36 hours. Dogs are staying sick for weeks. And vets still do not fully understand what is causing it or where it came from. This is not a reason to panic. But it is absolutely a reason to pay attention. 😭 Here are the warning signs every dog parent needs to know 👇 ✅ A persistent cough that just won't quit ✅ Sneezing and watery or runny eyes ✅ Fever and unusual lethargy ✅ Loss of appetite or disinterest in food ✅ Labored or difficult breathing The dogs most at risk are the ones with already compromised immune systems — puppies, seniors, and any dog dealing with an underlying health condition. 😭 If your dog spends time around other dogs at parks, boarding facilities, groomers, or doggie daycare — your awareness needs to be higher right now. 😱 But here is the conversation that is NOT happening enough... Why are some dogs getting hit hard while others bounce back quickly? 🤯 The answer almost always comes back to one thing — the immune system. And your dog's immune system does not live in a pill or a shot. It lives in the gut. 🎯 Over 70% of your dog's entire immune defense is housed in the gut. When the gut microbiome is out of balance — from poor diet, stress, antibiotics, or processed food — your dog's defenses are already weakened before any threat even walks through the door. That is what we focus on inside this community. Not just reacting to symptoms. Building the foundation that makes your dog resilient from the inside out. A dog with a strong gut is a dog with a fighting chance. 🥰 I want to hear from you 👇 Has your dog experienced any of these symptoms recently? Have you seen this going around in your area? Drop your location and let us know what you are seeing on the ground. 🔥 🔥
