Itching, allergies and the subsequent solutions prescribed by "pet-professionals" is always a "hot" topic, so here goes... Your dog itches. Vet prescribes Apoquel or Cytopoint. Itching stops. Then it comes back. Repeat forever. $100-300/month. Every month. For life, and nobody ever talks about WHY your dog is itching. 😱 Here's the Truth... Apoquel and Cytopoint are miracle drugs. They work fast. They're WAY better than steroids, but they're treating the SYMPTOM, not the SOURCE. 🎯 Your house is on fire, and instead of putting it out, you're just getting a fan to blow away the smoke. The smoke clears. The fire keeps burning. 🔥🔥 Why Most Vets Keep You on Medication Forever, I'm not bashing vets. We have AMAZING vets in this community doing incredible work, but I believe (just my thoughts) the veterinary SYSTEM is broken: 🎯 Vet schools are pharma-sponsored. They teach prescriptions, not nutrition. 🎯 Appointments are 15 minutes. No time to investigate root causes. 🎯 Insurance covers meds, not prevention. The system profits from the cycle, just like HUMANS!!! Most vets genuinely don't know there's another way. They're doing what they were taught. What the GOOD Vets Know, the vets solving chronic allergies aren't just prescribing medications, they're asking: "What's CAUSING the immune system to go haywire?" 🫣 Here's what they know: 80% of your dog's immune system lives in the gut, when the gut is inflamed and broken, the immune system attacks EVERYTHING—pollen, dust, food proteins. 😱 🐶 Result? Chronic itching, hot spots, ear infections, paw licking. Apoquel/Cytopoint suppress the immune response. But they don't fix the gut, that's why the itching ALWAYS comes back. 🤯 What's Actually Happening... Your dog has a damaged gut lining (leaky gut). Food particles leak into the bloodstream.
