Happy Mother’s Day!
Does your nonprofit have brand awareness?
Many small nonprofits often forget that a nonprofit is a corporation, therefore it should aspire to be a well known brand. I get that it sounds so cold when stated, but think of some long standing nonprofits that have become a well-known brand in our communities and nationally. For example, Goodwill. You may kinda turn your nose up just hearing the name. That’s because you have become hyper aware of the gaps of service to the community. But today is Saturday and I guarantee their stores are busy on this Mother’s Day weekend. And on Monday, some type of workforce training continues. Awareness is not about being everywhere. It is about being remembered. One clear message repeated consistentlywill outperform scattered communication every time. Share what your organization is doing for Mother’s Day.

Busy and Productive are NOT Synonymous
Impact isn’t measured by how busy your nonprofit is…It’s measured by what’s different because you showed up. Busy feels productive.Change is what actually matters. Know the difference. What are you focused for the next 90 days? Please share in the comments.
Storytelling with impact
Every nonprofit says they want impact. Few communicate it in a way people remember. Facts inform. Stories move people to act. Lead with the human side of the mission. When was the last time you told the story related to your nonprofit? Did you get a donation? If not, share why you think you did not.
Outcomes aren't the only reports a nonprofit leader should have
Federal oversight of nonprofit grant spending is tightening, with documentation and expense tracking under review. Several organizations have already been flagged for gaps. Grant funding is no longer just about outcomes. It is about proof. If documentation is not clear and consistent, funding risk starts before the next application is even submitted. Strong systems protect future revenue. A nonprofit, no matter how small may want to consider contracting a grant manager or grant management company. Many funders are requiring this to be written and agreed upon before releasing the funds.
