Legato Exercise (Combined shape 1 & 2)
Coming back down the scale is still harder than going up, and I really had to focus on isolating both the right hand and the left hand while practicing. Thought it would be good to revisit shape 1 and try to combine it with shape 2.

Legato Exercise Shape 2
Feeling better on these exercises after isolating the right hand to a metronome and really focusing on letting the pick rest on the next string.

Happy New Years - Progress
Hey All, I’ve been away for quite some time due and have not been able to pick up the guitar. I’ve recently been able to pick it up and work on my fundamentals in scales, techniques, etc.. that I’ve been able to apply it in a real music scene… sorta. Here’s a cool little clip jamming in the key of D. I looped a chord picking pattern from a Dmaj7 to A. While using the D Major pentatonic shape on the bass! With my buddy on the drums. Will have to attempt some sort of guitar lead/solo in the future when revisiting this. Definitely can use this as motivation to be able to write my own songs someday! Happy New Year!
Happy New Years - Progress
Second part to original idea based on Let’s Stay Together (Al Green) Chords
I played the first part through as well with some minor changes, then added the second part. Was trying to make it a bit different than the rest but still in the same theme/ with some open strings in the chords and extended chords as well.
Legato/ Speed work exercise
Took a bit of time to get to this speed. Main thing is it could be smoother/ more efficient still, I really need to work more on the technique you showed on the way down (using my finger instead of the pick). But I’ll keep working on it!
