Welcome to Nekh's Language Blueprint
I am Nekh. I speak four languages, and I am learning my fifth, Ukrainian, in public. This is the free community for the method I use. What's the smallest version of your routine?
I'm 36 days into a routine. Training seven times a week, one chapter of Rave Master a day, and one lesson in the app. I'm not on pace with all of it. I'm behind on Rave Master, and I'm not hitting three litres of water a day either. But the routine hasn't broken, because every part of it is small enough to do on a day when nothing lines up. That's the part I'd copy. Not how big the routine is, but how small it can get and still count. So what's the smallest version of your routine that still counts? One line is enough.

What would you learn a language through?
There are no Ukrainian Pokémon cards. If there were, I'd be learning from them, because it doesn't matter much what language the card is in. What matters is that I care about what's on it. That's the part worth copying. Pick the thing you'd be doing anyway, get the words for it, then go and use them. If it was football, I'd use the app or make my own flashcards for the football words, and then start watching and reading about it in the language. So what would you learn a language through? One word is enough. I'll reply to every one with how I'd start.

Where do you actually study?
Most of my Ukrainian this week did not happen at a desk. A short session with the app before the gym. A manga chapter on my phone between sets. Another session on the walk home. Each one was small. Together they were more than I would have done if I had waited for a proper block of time. I think a lot of people stop because they are waiting for that block. An hour, a quiet room, a clear head. It does not come often enough. So where does your studying actually happen. Not where you think it should. Where it really does.

What is your Quilava?
There is one Pokémon I care about more than the rest. Quilava. Not a popular one, and the cards are not worth much. I collect every one I can find, in any language. That sounds like a side hobby. It is actually doing a lot of the work. Almost every language has Pokémon in it somewhere, which means I always have a reason to open Ukrainian that has nothing to do with studying. I think most people who stick with a language have one of these. Something specific enough that it pulls you back in on the days nothing else would. So what is yours. The thing niche enough that you would open a language just for it.
