Project iteration and update
Project - eLearning mindful leadership course for corporate environments
Measurement - Have an online mindfulness course available for purchase that is catered to corporate leaders.
Timeline - Iterated target date from March 31st to May 31st. After realizing I was placing my value outwardly (on other people's perspectives) instead of what I believe in and value for myself I expanded the scope and increased the quality of production to play for a bigger impact.
Next Milestones
  • Edit Ad Scripts - February 17th
  • Finalize content scripts - March 1st
  • Film content videos and ads - March 10-12th
  • Post insights weekly on LinkedIn - March 1st
  • Finalize web/sales page - April 30th
  • Launch email and ad campaign - May 14th
  • Launch course on own webpage and course site - May 31st
How it's been going - From a project progression standpoint it's been moving along with momentum. I've had weekly goals that I've been meeting as I am collaborating with an editor and sales copywriter on the content and sales page. The adjusted timeline stayed in place for the last two months and we've been executing on each milestone. I've seen when I work with others, I place more significance on accountability. Which I'd like to cultivate more on my own when not working with others.
From an experience standpoint I feel constrained - that I put a lot of pressure on myself to appear knowledgeable and credible to others, lacking trust in what I do create (written or in interactions around the mindful self-leadership topics). Feeling like I could add or contribute more. This has been an edge of growth for me and where I use a lot of energy in rumination/post-reflection which disconnects me from new creativity. Declaring items "complete" has been helpful closing the loop a bit here and I've felt more like I'm creating with a natural rhythm after acknowledging something complete. Reframing the project as a continued experiment has also fueled some strength to view myself as the creator of the experience.
Rewards - The short and medium-term rewards (dessert, full-day open, go to a show/concert, massage) I tend to delay or de-value when I do reach the milestones. I think this is more of an edge than I thought, questioning whether I'm worthy of the reward as my mind skips to the next milestone or sees what else could be done. I want to create space for enjoyment and celebration throughout the project. I'm going to create rewards that are further outside of my routine-living and build a ritual around it (i.e. going to a location, Bakery, instead of buying a dessert to eat at home) and telling other people about the reward to expand the celebration.
Next actions - Edit Ad Scripts by February 17th & practice reading content scripts for 2 hours per day, as I have scheduled filming sessions for three days (March 10-12th)
Overall, I want to create an experience of challenge and excitement in this project. Where I'm excited to create, share, and collaborate with others while stretching beyond my edges. That this project becomes an opening to offshoots for creating mindfulness tools and resources for corporate leaders, expanding my current network to new connections, and becoming an advisor/coach. I want to be viewed as a mindful guide to the business world, where professionals can come to expand their worldviews and learn to lead with empathy.
