For me… that’s Chief Larry Goldberg.
He gave me these boots to fill.
And the job he loved… took him from us.
Not in one moment.
Not on one call.
But over years—the exposure, the stress, the wear that follows us home.
His death from colorectal cancer is now recognized as a Line of Duty Death.
It shouldn’t take years for that recognition.
But today, it matters.
Because this job doesn’t just demand everything from you—it quietly takes it.
We honor the fallen.
But we owe the living more.
Better habits.
Better protection.
Better conversations about what this job is really doing to us.
🧼 Clean your gear

🩺 Get screened
Protect yourself.
Protect your family.
That’s what this is really about.
RIP my friend, Chief Goldberg.
I carry what you taught me every day.
If this hits home for you—you’re not alone.
This weekend, we honor him and all those we have lost.
