Before You do Anything: Introduce yourself.
Welcome to MyClearLight! Before you explore the Classroom, before you join your first Paintfest, before you pick your affirmation card, we want to know who you are. Not your job title, not your CV, not your list of achievements. The real stuff. The interesting stuff. The stuff that makes you a human being rather than a professional. Here is what we’d love you to share: 🙋 WHO ARE YOU? Your name & what people actually call you, not just what’s on your LinkedIn. 🌍 WHERE ARE YOU FROM? Not just your city. Give us a sense of your world. 🦄 YOUR QUIRKY SKILL OR WEIRD ABILITY The thing you can do that is genuinely useless, mildly baffling, or impossible to put on a CV. The stranger the better. 📷 SHARE A PHOTO We’re a visual community and we love seeing your world. Share one photo of where you are right now with your introduction. That’s it. That’s your only job right now. Post your introduction. Say hello. Have a look around at your leisure. We are genuinely glad you’re here. — Caro & the MyClearlight Community ✨
🕷️ Meet My Spider (And A Bit About Something We're Starting Together)
I have another confession: it's Saturday night and after such a disappointing Springboks game against the All Blacks, I decided to take out my spider and paint. And you know what, I'm still at the table, hunched over a piece of paper, waiting for paint to dry before I start the next step. I drew her from scratch - every leg, every web line, every little gold joint, and I genuinely lost track of time. There's something about mixing colours and watching an image slowly come to life that just switches my brain off in the best way. I find it so calming. And somewhere between the third and fourth leg, I thought: I promised to do this with you guys. So, I'm officially announcing our first Paint Fest. 🎨 A live, online, come-as-you-are painting session where we all pick up a brush together, learn a bit, laugh a bit, and create something that's ours. I don't want to dump a big materials list on you tonight and overwhelm you before we've even started — so over the next few weeks I'll be sharing simple posts on exactly what to buy, where I got mine, and what it costs (paintbrushes, acrylic paints, a palette, and mixed media paper work beautifully - A3 is my preferred size). Cheaper options are easy to find too, so keep an eye out. For now, just know it's coming, and nothing fancy is needed to start. Right now, I just want to know one thing: what would YOU like to do at our first Paint Fest? Vote for your favourite, or if you're torn, tell me why in the comments. Once I've got a feel for what excites you most, I'll pop up a separate poll to nail down the best date and time for everyone. 💛 Watch this space over the next few weeks for the spider update, materials tips, and our first Paint Fest date, all coming your way. Vote in the poll below for what you'd like our first Paint Fest to be, and keep an eye out for buying tips & a date/time poll in the coming weeks. 🕷️🎨

AUGUST IS WOMEN'S MONTH — here's our theme for the next 31 days
In 1956, a group of women marched on the Union Buildings and refused to carry passes that told them where they were and weren't allowed to exist. They weren't asking permission. They were claiming space. That's the energy I want running through MyClearLight this August. So for the month, our theme is 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝗶𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗦𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲. Women (real, historical, or sitting right here in this community) who colour outside the lines they are handed, in whatever way that shows up for you right now. Here's how it's going to weave through everything we already do: 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗦𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗸: each Monday this month gets a Women's Month lens: a woman who claimed her space, and a question to sit with as you start your week. 𝗦𝗻𝗮𝗽 '𝗻 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲 (Thursdays): same easy photo prompt you already love, with a one-line Women's Month twist each week. 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗣𝗼𝗽: this month's competition features a woman who built something extraordinary from nothing, from a colouring book my dear friend Dezré Little created called 𝗥𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀. I'll tell you all about her and how to enter in a separate post very soon. And on 9 August, National Women's Day here in South Africa, I've got something special for all of you. This is a month about colour, voice, and claiming your space. I can't wait to see what it stirs up in you. Drop a 🌸 below if you're in.
Hi, I'm Caro — and if we haven't officially met yet, welcome.
I want to tell you what this community actually is, because it's not just another group collecting dust. 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲'𝘀 𝗮 𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁'𝘀 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗳𝘂𝗻: - paint parties, - playful challenges, - a weekly photo prompt that takes two minutes and always makes me smile, - and a group of people who actually show up for each other. You don't need to pay a cent for any of that. Just join in. 𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲'𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻: the work I actually do for a living. If you've ever set a goal, done everything "right," and still couldn't make it stick, I'd bet it's not a discipline problem. It's an alignment problem. Your goal doesn't match who you currently believe you are. Here's the thing nobody tells you: your identity isn't fixed. You're not stuck being who you've always been. You can become the person you need to be to hit that goal, but only once you get honest about who that person actually is. 𝗦𝗼 𝗮𝘀𝗸 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳: 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝗱𝗼 𝗜 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗼 ______? (𝗙𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗶𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗴𝗼𝗮𝗹.) Sit with that question. It changes things. That's the work we do together in here - identity coaching, navigating change, expanding your capacity, and yes, actual retreats where we do this in person. Besides the deep stuff, you'll probably just make some good friends along the way. You'll get early access to my events before anyone else hears about them. And there will absolutely be paint parties. Glad you're here. It might be exactly what you need right now.

Hi, I'm Caro — and if we haven't officially met yet, welcome.
Hey everyone! 👋
I'm Tams... professional chaos coordinator. 😂 I live in St Francis Bay with my husband Barry and our golden retriever Tucker, who is convinced he's the CEO of the house. I love creating businesses, building communities, painting random things, and saying, "I've got an idea..." which usually costs Barry money. 🤣 🦄 My random talent? I can spot business opportunities almost everywhere... and somehow always convince Barry they're brilliant. 😂 On weekends you'll usually find me building blanket forts in the lounge or making matching family PJs (yes... even Tucker has to coordinate 🐶🤣). I'm here because I think the best ideas always come from hanging around creative people. Can't wait to get to know you all! ❤️
