Help me shape the Group Coaching Calls
Hey fam - I want to make sure the weekly calls are the most useful hour of your week, so I'm reworking them a bit and want your input. What would make you most likely to jump on live?

Welcome
This community isn't just a course you read. It's a room full of independent artists learning how to turn their music into a real, sustainable career. We're not here to just rack up streams and hope for the best. We're here to build the strategy, the systems, and the business model that actually make a music career work long term. Your first task is simple, and it takes 90 seconds. Task 1: Drop Your Intro Post I want you to do one thing: say hi. This isn't a formality. Real things happen in this room when people show up: * You find out someone else is three steps ahead of you on the exact problem you're stuck on * You get feedback on your music, your offer, or your release strategy from people who get it * You stop feeling like you're figuring this out alone in a room by yourself * You connect with artists who become collaborators, not just contacts * You become someone others learn from, which sharpens everything you know But none of that happens for the lurkers. The members who treat this community like Netflix never get the benefit of being IN it. So before you touch a module, introduce yourself. 👉 CLICK HERE TO POST YOUR INTRO IN "SAY HI" 👋 → https://www.skool.com/music-careers-messy-middle Copy & Paste This Template Post title: 👋 I'm [Your Name] — in the next 30 days I want to [Big Simple Goal] Post body: 👋 Name: I'm [your name] from [city / country]. 💼 What I do: I currently [your genre / your project / who you make music for / what stage you're at]. 🎯 What I want from this community: The #1 way I want strategy and systems to change how I run my music career is [your goal]. ❓ One question for the group: [Ask one specific question about monetization, growth, releases, fanbase, or anything you're stuck on right now]. 🤝 How I can help: One thing I'm great at that I can help others with is [your zone of genius, whether that's production, songwriting, social, performance, or something else entirely].

74% of artists made under $1,000 from their music last year
Ditto just released their 2026 independent artist report, and one number stuck with me: 74% of independent artists made less than $1,000 from their music last year. https://dittomusic.com/en/independent-music-report-2026 A few more from the same report: - 64% have another job - 82% can't afford to tour Getting your music out has never been easier. Anyone with a laptop can upload a song tonight. But uploading isn't a plan for making money, and streaming isn't a business model. Most artists I talk to have one or two ways their music earns: streams, and a couple of gigs here and there. Those almost never add up. The artists who actually make a living have a few things working at once. Bigger shows. Merch. A direct line to their fans, like an email list or a community they can sell to without a middleman. Sync, teaching, or writing on the side. None of it is huge on its own. Together, it pays. Shavings make a pile. Hell, Diplo had a slew of odd jobs before he finally got a Grammy nomination and knew this was his destiny (see screen shot below). Your assignment this week: write down every way your music made you money in the last 12 months, and put a number next to each one. If you're a hobbyist, that's totally fine. Making music for the love of it is a great creative outlet. But if you're trying to build a real, sustainable career and your list is one line long, that's your answer. Pick one more income stream and give it 90 days. Drop a comment below. What's on your list right now, and which stream are you adding? And if you want help building a real business in music, we're taking 3 more artists into our monetization accelerator this month: therackethouse.com/accelerator
