The TRUTH about why getting fired from my last corporate job 2 years ago was the best thing that ever happened to me…
This one might surprise you 🙂 But first, let me take you back to where it all started… I spent 15+ years in corporate sales… From startups to global companies… Grinding through zoom calls I didn't care about… And slowly becoming someone I didn't recognize. I was a top performer on paper. Making good money, respected by my colleagues. But… I was burnt out… Constantly asking myself… "Is this really it?" "Why does success feel this empty?" "Where did the version of me that actually loved what he did go?" Because I sure as hell couldn't find the answers sitting on another pointless sales call. I banged my head against the wall for years trying to force it to work. Interviewing at companies that merged music and tech. Nights and weekends building a music blog, managing artists, running A&R, throwing events, DJing, producing. For so long… My fear of the unknown kept me from betting on myself. But when I finally had no choice… Everything changed. My last corporate job ended after 3 months. And I was in a dark place. No plan. No income. An Amazon storefront that looked good on paper but was a headache in reality. Then the lightbulb hit… Artists had been coming to me for advice for years. So I shot a selfie video. Posted it to my IG. Said I was noodling on something. Asked if artists wanted to work with me 1:1. Within 24 hours, a dozen artists raised their hand. Within a couple weeks, I had my first paying clients. Oh shit. This is real. I took it and ran. I invested in a business coach to tighten my offer, get my pricing right, and figure out my marketing. Added more offers. Gained more clients. Built trust. I also failed a bunch… Didn't deliver for some clients. They got upset, quit, or ghosted. Didn't want to renew or become case studies. Those ones stung. But I kept going. And now, 2+ years in… Dozens of clients. Livable revenue. Real case studies. Real testimonials. New programs with enrolled artists. Doubled my IG following. More artists finding me every single day.
