Tracking does not always mean spreadsheets and perfect dashboards.
Sometimes tracking means holding a number in your head for months.
Since August 2025, I have had one quiet target in mind with my Amazon ads.
ROAS of 3.
ROAS stands for return on ad spend.
It simply means this:
For every 1 dollar I put into ads, I want 3 dollars back in sales.
In the last 30 days, my ROAS was 3.3.
That means for every 1 dollar I spent on ads, I brought in 3 dollars and 30 cents in revenue.
After months of running my own ads.
Testing. Adjusting. Learning. Tweaking bids. Sitting with days that were flat.
Watching ACOS move around.
It feels steady. Earned and calm.
But here is the real part.
I know I might not stay there.
Because I just launched my Get Your Shit Done Planner, and I am still finding the right ad angle.
New (and different) products mean new data. New learning curve. And growth always costs a pretty penny before it climbs.
Today I sat in a webinar about TikTok Shop and Amazon and caught myself thinking, wait… maybe this planner belongs there too.
So ad spend tracking for me right now looks like this:
• Keep ROAS around 3 as the standard
• Allow temporary dips while testing
• Stay curious about new channels
• Make decisions from data, not emotion
You do not have to track everything perfectly to build something meaningful.
But you do need a number you respect.
What is the one number you are quietly aiming for right now?
