Chronic ankle instability following ankle sprain
Wanted to share this case because it has nice follow-up from a case that Dr. Jbara eloquently discussed on her forum
Here is the original case discussion:
There have been some healing changes of the low lateral ankle ligaments. Unfortunately, the patient has developed an osteochondral lesion of the anterolateral talar dome—likely secondary to repetitive microtrauma from instability related to ligamentous laxity. Doesn't look like there is instability of the OCL, so I'm guessing the referring provider will opt for conservative management initially
Any thoughts on the case and prognosis/management and others?
