Z axis and floating head is complete
I converted the original right angle torch into a machine torch by disassembling the plastic torch body/handle which I disposed of except for a 1 1/4 inch section on the torch end. That part I cut off and saved because it’s needed to incapsulate the brass torch assembly. I added a clear polypropylene tube which has a heavy duty hose clamp on each end of the tube. I think this will work but if not I will let everyone know. I’ll have some pictures posted soon.
Just a quick note on this z axis: The way it’s built is very different from most in that the motor and ball screw along with the torch all move together when the motor shaft rotates. The only part that remains stationary is the ball screw nut and the bearings.
