Something I've been thinking about lately. We all got into real estate to build freedom. Time freedom. Financial freedom. The ability to do what we want when we want. But be honest. Can you actually take a vacation without checking your phone every 20 minutes? I'm actually heading out on vacation and I'm already torn. Part of me wants to completely step away. The other part knows there are things that need me. But here's what I've learned. You have to take the break to be able to sprint. You can't run at full speed forever. The time away is what recharges you to come back and go harder than before. So what about you? Have you taken a real vacation in the last year where the business actually ran without you? Three years ago I couldn't string two sentences together on camera. I'd hit record, freeze, say something dumb, delete it, and never post anything. I thought I just wasn't built for it. Some people are natural on camera. I wasn't one of them. So I tried harder. And got worse. I overthought every word. I watched myself back and cringed. I convinced myself my friends would see it and laugh. So I kept hiding. Kept telling myself I'd start when I felt ready. Ready never came. Eventually I got so frustrated that I did something that scared me more than anything - I started a podcast. No experience. No confidence. Just a decision that I was going to figure it out by doing it. I made every mistake you can make. I stumbled over words. I rambled. I looked stiff. I sounded robotic. I stopped trying to be perfect and started just talking like a human. I learned what to say, how to say it, and how to make it look and sound like I knew what I was doing - without a crew, without expensive gear, without hours of editing. Now I can speak off the cuff anytime, anywhere. The camera doesn't scare me anymore. _____________________________________________ Here's why this matters for YOU. If you're not posting on social media right now, nobody knows you exist. Nobody knows you buy houses. Your competitors who ARE posting - even badly - are getting the call you should be getting. Think about it this way. Getting 100 views on a video feels like nothing. But imagine walking into a room and speaking in front of 100 people. That's terrifying. Same audience. Completely different feeling. And those 100 people on video? They're sellers. Buyers. Referral sources. People who could put money in your pocket. If you're not doing this, you need to be. Full stop.
