The secret sauce to ministry with our community is both the proclamation and the demonstration of the gospel.This is our weekly Bible study to those who've come to get food. We also have a prayer team that works its way car to car down the line each week. Demonstration without proclamation is dead works. Proclamation without demonstration is dead faith. A wise missionary once shared this principle one Sunday many years ago and it has been one of the most fundamental principles that has greatly shaped our ministry philosophy. So many people have come to know the Lord through the meeting of physical needs followed by a proclamation of Christ as the only one able to meet spiritual needs. God is good!

Back when I worked at Mosaic Church, an intentionally multiethnic church in Little Rock, AR, I remember it being said that the two most common comments from guests were these: 1) This is the most welcoming place. 2) I couldn’t stop crying through the service. What a beautiful and heavenly thing to worship and hang out in community with people who are white, black, hispanic, asian, from 20 nations and all different walks of life. Lord, help us continue to grow in these ways — to walk, work and worship together as one.
