A dad DM’d me:
“We have a 2-month-old son with a rare disease. My wife started a TikTok to share the journey. One video hit 800k views. She thinks we need 10k followers to make money. Is that true? Teach me.”
My answer: you don’t need 10k followers and TikTok RPM payouts are low anyway.
What they actually have is:• Proof of attention (800k views)• A real story people care about• A video they can multiply off of (different formats)
My advice:
  1. Start building around what already worked.Turn that one high-performing video into 5 versions: Same idea. New hooks. Slight tweaks.
That’s how you turn luck into a system.
  1. If you want monetization NOW
DO TikTok Shop + UGC its the easiest on-ramp right now: Brands don’t want influencers anymore. you need 5k followers (half the goal) and you'll earn way more money in the short time while the goal mine lasts. Brands also want creators who can make simple product videos that convert and to mold people. You don’t need a big following. You just need content that IS real.
If you’re sitting on one video that “randomly” worked, you’re not lucky.
You found a signal.
Multiply it.
Build and scale around it.
