his is the final week of our monthly focus on striking setups — and now it’s time to take everything we’ve learned and apply it without even throwing a strike.
Instead of using punches or kicks to provoke reactions, we’re using movement as the trigger.
🧠ABC Principle Still Applies:
- A: You move first (pull, push, circle)
- B: Read their reaction
- C: Use that reaction to strike when they’re most vulnerable
📌 Examples to study and try this week:
- Take a backward step to make your opponent chase — then intercept them as they step forward
- Use cage pressure to invite them to circle out — then cut them off with a kick or spinning strike
- Fake a directional opening with your footwork to steer them into your power side
💡 When your opponent is moving, they're often not defending. That’s the moment to capitalize.
🎯 This week’s challenge:Post a short clip or written breakdown where you used movement — not strikes — to set up your attack. Let’s see it!
