🏆 Cycle 2 Scoring: Everything You Need to Know
The Cycle 2 scoring system is officially live!
We took your feedback from Cycle 1 and updated the scorecard, putting more weight on what matters most: building something functional, reliable, and genuinely useful.
📋 THE 100-POINT SCORECARD
⚙️ 45 pts: Functionality, Reliability & Usefulness
Your Mini App should:
• Deliver its core feature without errors
• Handle errors clearly without crashing or freezing
• Be fast, stable, and feel complete
• Solve a real problem or user need
• Have a clear target audience
• Bring something original or meaningfully improve on an existing idea
• Give users a reason to come back
🔗 25 pts: Nimiq Pay & Nimiq Integration
The judges will look at:
• How central wallet/payment functionality is to the experience
• Whether payment success, failure & cancellation are handled properly
• Whether the payment flow is clear and trustworthy
• How well the app works inside Nimiq Pay on mobile
• Whether it uses NIM or the wider Nimiq ecosystem beyond simply accepting a payment
👥 15 pts: Real Usage
Based on unique Nimiq wallets opening your Mini App during the measurement period:
• 15 pts: 25+ users
• 10 pts: 11–24 users
• 6 pts: 4–10 users
• 0 pts: 0–3 users
ℹ️ Bot-like traffic is excluded, and confirmed attempts to game usage can result in disqualification.
🎨 10 pts: Design & UX
• Clean, consistent and trustworthy design
• A first-time user should understand and reach the main point of your app within 60 seconds without instructions
📣 5 pts: Builder Promotion
• 2 pts: Post your Mini App in the Skool community at least once
• 3 pts: Share at least one public social media post about your Mini App and the competition
ℹ️ You will be asked to submit direct links as part of your submission.
⚠️ IMPORTANT: SEPTEMBER 18 DEADLINE
• Your Mini App must be submitted by Friday, September 18 at 23:59 UTC.
• The deadline is not a freeze, meaning you can continue improving, updating and promoting your Mini App afterward (and we encourage you to do so!)
• However, your live Mini App will be evaluated at any time (at random) after the deadline without advance notice, so make sure it is ready by September 18 and stays ready.
• Council members will evaluate the live Mini App as a real user experiences it inside Nimiq Pay, not your code.
💬 SCORING AND FEEDBACK
• Individual scores won't be shared publicly or privately. This protects the integrity of the judging process and keeps the focus on building rather than comparing numbers.
• The Community Council will not provide public or private individual feedback on Mini Apps during Cycle 2. Their role will be focused exclusively on evaluating and scoring submissions.
• Instead, we strongly encourage you to share your Mini App here and ask the community for feedback throughout the cycle.
• This is one of the main reasons the Skool community exists: to give builders a space to test each other’s Mini Apps, exchange honest feedback, share ideas, and help each other improve.
• Don’t wait until the end of the cycle to find out what users think. Share what you’re building, ask other builders to test it, and use their feedback to keep improving before scoring begins.
🎯 WHAT TO FOCUS ON
• Build something useful. Make sure it works. Create a great experience inside Nimiq Pay. Get real people using it. Promote it. And keep shipping.
100 points total.
