🎙️ Book Your Sip & Show Spot for This Wednesday
Want eyes on your Mini App before September 18? Come show it live. Sip & Show gives you 3 to 5 minutes on screen to walk the community through what you've been building and get real-time feedback from the Nimiq team. 💬 To grab a spot, comment below with: - Your Mini App name - One line on what it does 🗓️ Wed, 11:00 AM ET (15:00 UTC) 📹 Join us on Zoom (🔑 MiniApps) 🎙️ Listen along on X ⭐ Reminder: Participation in our weekly community calls is also part of the competition scoring, so it’s worth joining even if you’re not demoing.
💡 Who inspired you this week?
We have over 400 builders in this community, and some of you have been quietly showing up for each other in ways that deserve to be recognized. This week, we want to shine a light on those builders. - Who gave you feedback that made a difference? - Who tested your Mini App and spotted an issue? - Who inspired you with their Mini App's progress? - Who answered a question when you were stuck? Tag them below! You might just make their day. 💛
We talk about paying it forward - but what about paying it sideways?
We’re all familiar with paying it forward: doing something kind for someone we may never meet. But what about the people beside us? The person who checked in, the friend who quietly showed up, the colleague who made a difficult day easier, the person we appreciate but perhaps haven’t actually told. That’s why I built Pay It Sideways. Think of one person. Write them a private thank-you or kind message. If you want, add a little NIM -without asking for their wallet address. One private link carries it to them. Then they choose what follows: - Keep it—claim the NIM and accept the kindness they deserve. - Pass it sideways—write a fresh message for somebody else, with words alone or an optional new NIM gift. No public profiles. No leaderboards. No pressure to give anything back. Just a private chain of people noticing people. So, what would you do? Would you add some NIM to the next act of kindness? Pass it onward with a message? Or simply keep the kindness—because perhaps you needed it too? Try it inside Nimiq Pay: - Pay It Sideways I’d really value your feedback: did the send → keep → pass experience feel clear and natural?
Beautiful idea.
📊 Scoring & Feedback in Cycle 2
We want every builder in here to know exactly how their Mini App will be evaluated and what to expect when Cycle 2 ends. - How your Mini App will be evaluated: The Community Council will use the public scoring rubric to evaluate every eligible submission. It covers the scoring categories, evaluation criteria, and points available for each. We strongly recommend reviewing it thoroughly as you build your Mini App and prepare your submission. 🔗 miniappscompetition.com/scoring - What will happen once judging is complete: Once judging is complete, individual scores will remain confidential. The Community Council's role is focused solely on evaluating and scoring submissions to determine the three winning Mini Apps. They will not provide public or private feedback on individual submissions or explain how individual scores were determined. - How to get the feedback you need: If you’re looking for feedback on your Mini App, we encourage you to make full use of the resources available throughout the cycle. The goal is to give you multiple opportunities to test, improve, and iterate before your Mini App is evaluated. ✅ Share your Mini App with the community and ask for feedback ✅ Test other builders’ Mini Apps and ask them to test yours too ✅ Join Sip & Ship and ask the team anything during the live Q&A ✅ Demo your Mini App during Sip & Show and get live feedback The best feedback is the feedback you can actually use while there’s still time to improve.
🏆 Cycle 2 Scoring: Everything You Need to Know
The Cycle 2 scoring system is officially live! We took your feedback from Cycle 1 and updated the scorecard, putting more weight on what matters most: building something functional, reliable, and genuinely useful. 📋 THE 100-POINT SCORECARD ⚙️ 45 pts: Functionality, Reliability & Usefulness Your Mini App should: • Deliver its core feature without errors • Handle errors clearly without crashing or freezing • Be fast, stable, and feel complete • Solve a real problem or user need • Have a clear target audience • Bring something original or meaningfully improve on an existing idea • Give users a reason to come back 🔗 25 pts: Nimiq Pay & Nimiq Integration The judges will look at: • How central wallet/payment functionality is to the experience • Whether payment success, failure & cancellation are handled properly • Whether the payment flow is clear and trustworthy • How well the app works inside Nimiq Pay on mobile • Whether it uses NIM or the wider Nimiq ecosystem beyond simply accepting a payment 👥 15 pts: Real Usage Based on unique Nimiq wallets opening your Mini App during the measurement period: • 15 pts: 25+ users • 10 pts: 11–24 users • 6 pts: 4–10 users • 0 pts: 0–3 users ℹ️ Bot-like traffic is excluded, and confirmed attempts to game usage can result in disqualification. 🎨 10 pts: Design & UX • Clean, consistent and trustworthy design • A first-time user should understand and reach the main point of your app within 60 seconds without instructions 📣 5 pts: Builder Promotion • 2 pts: Post your Mini App in the Skool community at least once • 3 pts: Share at least one public social media post about your Mini App and the competition ℹ️ You will be asked to submit direct links as part of your submission. ⚠️ IMPORTANT: SEPTEMBER 18 DEADLINE • Your Mini App must be submitted by Friday, September 18 at 23:59 UTC. • The deadline is not a freeze, meaning you can continue improving, updating and promoting your Mini App afterward (and we encourage you to do so!)
Hey @Francois Bradette! Just to clarify, Cycle 2 scoring will be handled differently from Cycle 1. The Community Council will not be sharing scores or providing private or public feedback on individual submissions. That said, you’re absolutely welcome to ask the community for feedback on your Mini App and get their thoughts before the results are announced. Good luck!
