Competition, the last before summerbreak
Today was my last competition before summerbreak. I caught a cold just two days before the comp and didn‘t know if anything would work out. Still I have all and I‘m pretty happy with the outcome. My races today were 200 free, 100free, 50 free and 100 IM. I started out with 200 free and swam it the second time in my life. This time I tried to start out faster and finish fast. Because of my cold, I think, I had no breath at the end and lost Speed Inserat if increasing Speed. Nevertheless I finished 6 seconds faster than last time (2:45,17) The second Race was 50 free. I finally left the stupid 33 behind and swam 31.29 at the exact Same Pool where I got my first 33! So I got a 2 second Pb. Third was 100 free I didn‘t Swim it for almost a year because of different reasons. I was in a slower Heat because of that gap, my last time was a 1:17. today I swam a 1.13,06. I think I could have been faster but I‘m happy with the 4 seconds faster. Last was 100 IM I now was teures and had a headache but tried to go fast. It Kind of didn‘t work out. I was 4 hundreds faster but that doesb‘t really count. I know I have to work on my back and breast Part and will do that. So today was a good experience to go in Break now and to be motivated to start out better After Summer than today.
last competion before summer holidays
On Saturday I was on a meet. I was satisfied. I swam 200,100,50m free and 50m breast. I had very good times (with 3 new PBs). Only in 50m free I didn´t reached my goal (29,99), I swam 30,54 (PB 30,41). I felt like I didn´t had enough power.
Summer splash meet 2026
I had a Summer Splash meet at Southampton this weekend, and I had a good few PBs considering I hadn’t been training regularly for the last month because of my GCSE exams. Nevertheless, I was very happy with my times. Unfortunately, I wasn’t so happy with my 200 IM. I swam a 2:29.60, which was 4.4 seconds slower than my PB. This altered my mood and made me feel quite negative. However, after talking to my coach, I understood that I had gone out too fast. Although I managed to PB my 50 fly split, the overall result reflected my lack of consistent training. I was also too excited going into the race, which affected my pacing. Later in the weekend, my swims got a lot better. In the 50 breaststroke, I finally broke a PB that had stood for over a year, swimming a 34.07 and dropping 0.96 seconds. This lifted my mood and made me feel much more optimistic. That confidence carried into my 100 freestyle, where I swam a 57.00, taking 0.55 seconds off my PB. My 50 fly was right after that, and I swam a 28.69. Unfortunately, I didn’t PB because I could feel the lactic acid building up in my legs. Throughout the swim, I felt heavy with every arm pull and felt like I was sitting too deep in the water. That concluded day one. On day two, I only had two events. My first race was the 50 backstroke, where I achieved a time of 30.65, a PB by 0.48 seconds. My second race of the day was the 50 freestyle. This was the race I had been waiting for and the one I hoped to perform best in. I did exactly that, swimming a 25.38 in a tech suit that had actually ripped slightly while I was putting it on. This was a huge PB of 0.92 seconds, and I was extremely happy with the result. It was good enough to place second. Overall, I am very happy with my results, especially considering I had been out of the water for a significant amount of time before the meet. The weekend showed me that, despite a lack of consistent training, I can still perform well, and it has given me a lot of motivation going forward.
🎉🎉 DJM German junior nationals 🎉🎉
Very full program, I started 9 times in 4 days (5 individuals, 2 finals and 2 relays), I started Tuesday with 1500, one of my main events so I have experience with that. I didn't start too fast like almost everybody does it, but the second half I accelerated and catched up most of swimmers, I finished 7th with the time 17.06 (pb 3sec). Then later, I had my first relay, 4x100m medley men, I swam freestyle and just gave everything (my time: 56.25), we're placed 11th. I wanted to focus on recovery, so did a proper cool-down. Surprisingly I didn't have sore muscles on Wednesday when 200IM was planned. I was happy about that even if 200IM wasn't my main objective. I swam it in 2.19.09 (1 sec pb) but I think I could go out faster in back and breaststrocke. Thursday I had one of my favourite events, the 200free, I swam a PB of 2 sec from 2.02.44 to 2.00.8, and with that time, I entered with the 7th time in the final. 2 hours later I started for 400IM, maybe I didn't recover well after 200 because I swam just 0.16 sec over my pb (4.53.15). To prepare for the final, I did a cool down, slept about 25 min and did again a warm up. I wasn't expecting to pb again because of the 400IM, but droped my time to 2.00.19 and placed 8th, with 0.15 behind the 7th. Last day, the Friday, I swam my last individual race, the 400free. At warm up, I already felt tired so I didn't want to insist on speed because I thought it could make it worse. the first 200 I swam a 2.11 and then something unlocked and I swam 2.08 for the second 200. I qualified for the final with the 6th time. This time, I managed to sleep one full cycle of sleep, did (I think) a better warm-up then in the morning. I started the first 200 with a time of 2.06.6 and the second 2.07.4 My final time was 4.14.04 and placed 6th but very close to 5th and 4th. My last race of this comp was the 4x100free men, I was dead after all these races, I started the last one and swam it in 58.7 My conclusion, all races pb except of one. I'm very happy about the placements and times, especially for 200 and 400free. For this year, I learned a lot about warm ups, nutrition, recovery and mental tricks. For next year: GET A MEDAL🫡
