Welcome
Welcome to Mental Lagging!
This is our very first post, and we’re excited to grow this community together.
Mental Lagging was created to be a welcoming, supportive space, especially within the gaming community. Gaming has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. It’s how I unwind, reset, and cope with the day. Living with anxiety and depression, and being diagnosed with Treatment-Resistant
Generalized Anxiety Disorder (TR-GAD), gaming has always been my safe place.
Over the years, gaming has grown into a massive, diverse community with millions of players across every genre imaginable. I’ve seen the best of it, and the not-so-great parts too. While gaming can be incredibly inclusive, the negative side sometimes gets the most attention, and that can make people hesitant to join in or play with others.
This community exists for anyone who wants to game with others but may not feel comfortable doing so yet. If you’ve ever wanted to be part of something but felt too anxious, unsure, or afraid to take that step, you’re not alone. I know that feeling well.
Starting this community is a big step for me, but it’s one I believe in. My goal is to encourage connection, positivity, and understanding, and to build real bonds over a shared love of gaming. Here, you don’t have to be perfect, competitive, or outspoken, just be yourself. We’re glad you found us.
