Today we pause to recognize International Women’s Day. Across generations and cultures, women have carried families, communities, movements, and visions forward. Their courage, creativity, and resilience have shaped the world we live in today. But today I want to acknowledge something else. The invisible labor women carry in their minds. The planning. The worrying. The emotional caretaking. The constant mental load. This is one of the reasons I care so deeply about mental hygiene. Just as we brush our teeth or wash our hands, our minds also need small daily practices that help clear stress, quiet the noise, and reconnect us with ourselves. So today I am inviting this community into a new practice. The 30 Day Mental Hygiene Reset For the next 30 days we will practice one small act of mental hygiene each day. Nothing complicated. Just simple practices that help us pause, breathe, reflect, and reset. These practices are not about productivity. They are about clarity. They are about calm. They are about learning to tend to our inner world with the same care we give to everything else. Think of this as daily maintenance for your mind and spirit. Day 1: The One Minute Reset Set a timer for one minute. Close your eyes if it feels comfortable. Take slow, steady breaths. As thoughts arise, simply notice them and let them pass. No judgment. No fixing. Just breathing. One minute may not seem like much, but this small pause interrupts the constant momentum of the mind and reminds your nervous system that it is safe to slow down. Mental hygiene does not require hours of meditation. Sometimes it begins with one intentional minute. If you would like to share with the group today: What did you notice during your one minute reset? Even a single word is welcome. Let today be a reminder that caring for your mind is not a luxury. It is a daily practice. And small practices, repeated over time, change everything.
