From Ai drafts to human connections. Humanising Ai copy.
Iteration: Turning Raw Output into Refined Copy. AI often gives you a first draft, not a final draft. Treat it like clay, malleable, full of potential, but needing your sculptor’s hand. 1. First Pass : Structure & Flow. Check if the copy has logical progression. Rearrange sections so the reader’s mental journey feels smooth and intuitive. Remove redundancy and tighten phrasing. 2. Second Pass : Voice & Tone. AI tends to default to generic or overly formal language. Adjust word choice to match your brand’s personality. It may be casual, authoritative, playful, empathetic. Ensure consistency across all touchpoints. 3. Third Pass : Emotional Resonance. Insert rhythm, pauses, and conversational cues. Replace sterile phrasing with analogies, metaphors, or cultural references that spark recognition. Ask: Does this sound like a human speaking to another human? Humanising: Injecting Trust, Empathy, and Nuance. AI can mimic patterns, but humans connect through imperfections and empathy. That’s where your craft comes in. (1) Add Micro Stories : A short anecdote or relatable scenario instantly warms up robotic text. Example: Instead of “Our service saves time,” say “Imagine reclaiming the hour you lose every Monday to paperwork.” (2) Use Sensory Language : AI often writes in abstractions. You bring texture. Swap “better experience” with “a smoother morning where coffee stays hot and emails don’t pile up.” (3) Embrace Imperfection : A perfectly polished AI sentence can feel sterile. A slight asymmetry like a conversational aside makes it human. Example: “And yes, we’ve all been there, scrolling at midnight, looking for answers.” (4) Layer in Empathy : AI can identify pain points, but you articulate them with compassion. Instead of “We solve your problems,” write “We know how frustrating it feels when deadlines loom and tools slow you down.” The Balance: AI as Draft, You as Editor. Think of AI as your speed partner. It accelerates idea generation and structure. But you are the emotional architect who ensures the copy breathes, resonates, and builds trust.
