Just thought I'd post about actual noise.
Depending on who you talk to, noise types are about more than coloration, its the actual types of randomness that define them. Brownian noise is the most interesting to me, its randomness is a sort of fractal function, from what I understand. I feel like not all noise generators respect this, some just eq some noise and call it a color. I think an indication of this is when its called just red or brown noise.
Anyhow, heres a fun little generator toy that I think does it right. Not a plugin, just a web page you can play with. It does export clips for you if you so desire. Sufficient for dropping into a wavetable, for instance.
This guy has all sorts of other interesting experiments on his page; some audio, some not. There's a good exploration of impulse response, and lots more.
