Waterproofing wooden items near a fish pond.
I have made several items that will be placed around my small waterfall/fish pond. They will not be submerged directly into the pond pool or waterfall stream. They are however, placed close to the pond, on surrounding rocks that will get rained on and when I water the surrounding plant life these will get wet and create run-off into the pond. I am looking for a spray on aerosol, rather than a brush on application. Any info or suggestions would be most appreciated
Collecting
The biggest part of my creative process is actually the collecting. I live on a small island in a rural community, so I don’t have fast access to big craft stores or specialty supplies. Instead, I spend a lot of time wandering beaches, trails, and roadsides, staring at the ground and scanning for anything that catches my eye. I buy very little when it comes to my builds. I genuinely enjoy the challenge of recreating things from found objects and scraps. A piece of driftwood might become a roof, a shell might become a sink, and a seed pod might inspire an entirely new room. For me, it’s a different form of play. The collecting, imagining, and problem-solving are just as rewarding as the building itself. It’s also one of my favourite ways to quiet my mind and connect with nature. How do you find your materials? What’s your favourite way to build?

What are the most helpful tools you all use?
I used to have a Dremel tool set. I have been thinking about getting another one. I don’t have a lot of useful cutting up twigs and small pieces of wood type tools. What are you all using? I did order the little Ina house from Mary’s Etsy today. So I probably don’t need a lot of tools for that but I want to be able to gather up some natural building materials for decorating the roof and walls. This is the first time I have had time to really look at what everyone is doing. There is a lot of inspiration here and some beautiful little houses and fairy gardens people have made.
