Apart of my consecration is not eating after 8pm... When I dance at the YMCA, it's normally around 6:45 or 7pm... Closing time is at 9pm. So, I would have to choose between praise dancing or eating before 8pm. I would always feel so conflicted on the inside because I desperately wanted to dance but naturally, I knew that after all that dancing I would be hungry and I won't eat again until the next day. Some may say "just eat before you go!" yet that doesn't always work so well because If I become too full, I will be limited, frustrated and sluggish. My dance won't be thorough. Learning when to eat and what to eat for fuel is a battle, but I will take heart and take a new grip! This battle is not always easy, but I notice better results and might I say "hear God more clearly" when I deny myself the pleasure of food in exchange for praising God. It makes me think of other believers who sing powerfully, preach with so much wisdom, and love like Christ. We only see the shiny part, yet we don't know the sacrifices behind the present results.
