After my exam today, I came home and tried to rest. I picked up my phone and started scrolling through reels. One reel caught my attention. It was from a podcast. The interviewer asked, “Are you happy?” and the guest said something that stayed with me:
“I’m not searching for happiness. I’m searching for peace. Where there is happiness, there is sadness. If something can rise, it must fall. If you can gain something, you can lose something. I stopped chasing happiness. What truly matters to me is peace.”
I kept thinking about this because I didn’t fully understand it.
For me, happiness always felt like peace. When I’m happy, I stay away from tension and stress. Happiness makes everything feel light for a while. But the guest was right. Happiness and sadness come and go.
So now I’m asking myself a few things:
What is peace in real life? Could you please tell me what does peace mean to you? Have you found your own peace? If yes, how?
Because I’m still trying to understand the difference between happiness and peace, and how someone can reach a point where their peace does not depend on people, moments, or results.
I would really value your thoughts on this. You always explain things with clarity, and your guidance might help me understand this better.
